Ive been thinking about my families' views on transportation. And made me realize, Everybody in my family has way different opinions.

My Mom:

A car is about practicality.

A Bike is too much work:

A Motorcycle is for People who dont value their lives:

My Dad:

Doesnt like to drive

Doesnt like to bike

Doesnt like motorcycles

Likes The Bus

My Brother:

A car is about the destination

A Bike is about the Journey

A Motorcycle sounds like fun

Me:

A Car is about the Journey

A Bike is about the destination:

The bus is convenient in the city:

I guarantee you my mom would feel the same way about those as she does motorcycles, My dad would probably hate it because he cant sleep while flying it, and my brother would probably love it but never fly one or buy one

My family, aside from me, sees it as:

A car is for transportation

A bike is for transportation and for fun

A motorcycle is for faster transportation and much more fun

A bus is for people who live in the city

Why can't a car be about being practical AND the journey?

A bike is nice where traffic sucks, IF there are bike lanes, unless you just use one for exercise.

A bus is what it is. They are for people who live and work along bus routes.

It all depends what a car is typically used for. For the typical commuter, the car isn't really important, because you are just sitting in traffic anyway. So economy and practicality usually win. For everyone else, a car can have some meaning.

My family sees it as transportation. As long as the car is semi-luxurios they are fine with anything.

Most people see a car as just a really fast chair with some safety features that prevent your from going splat in case of an accident. You sit down, you turn it on, you press some buttons, you turn it off when you're done.

Car = TV, only the TV can't take you places you need to go. This is why people view cars as an appliance. This is why the best selling car on earth is nothing more than an appliance.
